Moon Mission 1

Student Activity 2.2

In this mission, teams will use their moon rover created in the previous lesson.  Your objective is to program your rover to travel from the Earth to the Moon.  While on the moon, each team must be able to collect data on the intensity of the sun from the moon, as well as collect a rock from the moon.  And lastly, return to Earth with the rock object.

Planning Items:

1.      Estimate the distance between the earth and moon and how long it will take your rover to reach the moon.  You can use Pilot 4 to program the journey to the moon.

2.      Use Inventor 3 to program the rover to turn and collect readings from the Sun.

3.      Choose the program necessary to collect a rock sample from the moon.

4.      Using Pilot 4 program for the journey back to the Earth

***Remember:  Modifications can be made to your Moon rover if needed..
