When choosing educational software/products, educators need to evaluate the software carefully to see that the purchase can enhance the overall curriculum. Educational software should enhance classroom learning and develop higher order thinking skills. Software applications are not additions to the curriculum, but should easily fit into the scope and sequence of the course.

Products that are department specific, focused on administrative tasks, and will not be used for instructional purposes in K-12 need not participate in this process
