TILT Presentation at ISTE Island, Second Life

Compose: TILT in Second Life

Introduction

On Tuesday, July 15, 2008, around 8:00PM, Miguel Guhlin had the opportunity to share SAISD’s Technology Integration Lead Teacher (TILT) program with around 100–150 folks while IN Second Life, a virtual environment. “Second LifeŽ is a 3-D virtual world,” states the SL web site, “created by its Residents. Since opening to the public in 2003, it has grown explosively and today is inhabited by millions of Residents from around the globe.” Many of those residents are educators and include virtual presences by the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA), PBS TeacherLine, and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).

Miguel’s presentation was done at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Island. This is one in a series of presentations hosted by ISTE for a worldwide audience of educators online.

Incarnate Word University—with the help of Dr. Phil Youngblood—will be hosting Miguel (and SAISD) for this presentation.
