| Cara Baker | Using a blog in the classroom is not just another form of writing, but a way to get a conversation going and being able to use listening skills and respondng in a mature and meaningful way. You have to be able to read a blog posting and respond to it in a way that keeps the conversation going, not with something superficial. The whole classroom needs to reflect being able to blog well. |

| Jose Rodriguez | I guess it is easy to join the bandwagon. The trick is to NOT to fall off! Jeff gives some good tips on not only how to start student blogging but also building an audience for student bloggers. The are many different options in blogs. He told us about Class Blogmeister. A teacher can subscribe the classroom blog to other classroom blog through the blog roll. These are links on the blog home page. I really like this tip, especially for the lower elementary classroom. The use of a rubric for scoring student entries is a great idea. I would subscribe to the classroom blog to get notifications when students are posting and commenting. |
