Procedures for Palm Handhelds & mCLASS Benchmark Book

 
Palm Handhelds Pick-Up
  • Pick up Palm Handhelds, folding cover, cradle, power source, stylus, Palm Desktop Software (2 CDs), and manual from each teacher. Campuses are responsible for replacing missing items.

  • Indicate on individual teacher Palm User Agreements--note there are different agreements for m515 and Zire72--that Palm Handhelds have been returned to campus inventory.

  • Label all Early Childhood Education (ECE) Palms

  • Store Palm Handhelds in a secure location. The Palm Handhelds will discharge and data will be lost over the summer. (They will need to be recharged before school starts. See Beginning-of-Year Procedures.)

Sync Stations/Cables
  • Label the computer indicating that it is a public sync station.

  • Remove the cradles, cables and power supplies, secure with the Palms

 

End of the School Year

Procedures for Palm Tungsten Cs issued to Assistant Principals

 
  • If you are returning as Assistant Principal to the same campus and you do not wish to keep the Palm in your possession.
    • Please keep the Palm Charged throughout the summer.
    • Make sure it is in a secure location on campus.
  • If you are returning as Assistant Principal to the same campus and you wish to keep the Palm in your possession.
    • Make sure you have filled out the Palm Handheld agreement
    • Please keep the Palm Charged throughout the summer.
  • If you are not returning as Assistant Principal to the same campus or you are not sure of your status.
    • Turn the Palm and all issued peripherals into to your campus.
    • Delete your Versa Mail Account before turning it in.
    • Make sure it is in a secure location.
    • Make sure it is being charged.
  • Please be aware that should the charge on the palm run down completely, it will require a complete desktop set up and reload on the Palm. Please contact the help desk at 281-9090
  • If you use a different desktop to sync your Palm in the future, you will need a desktop set up. Please contact the Help Desk at 281-9090
